Canada 150th

In 3 days is Canada's 150th birthday. I want to know what you are grateful to Canada for? Being an immigrant, I am grateful to Canada for the opportunity that they give to people to choose to do what they want. It can be to work or have a business, for the freedom to speak, and for my family because Frank is Canadian. Now, tell me what you are grateful for?

Healthy Almond Joy

Healthy Almond Joy Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups shredded unsweetened coconut 6 dates 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 15 roasted salted almonds (or leave out; nutritional info for both is below) 1/2 cup choclate chips Directions: 1.  Line a small cutting board with wax or parchment paper. 2.  Combine dates and coconut in a food processor until slightly sticky, about three minutes. 3.  Scoop out a tablespoon of the mixture, pushing firmly to form a dome shape. 4. Then pop the dough into the palm of your hand and form the edges into a rounded rectangle and place it on the wax paper. Make 15 total. If you prefer, press one almond in the center of each coconut mound. 4. Freeze for 20 minutes.While the bars are firming up, melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler (in a small glass bowl over a small pot of boiling water). 5. Quick Burgers

Today I will start to share my recipies with you. The more important rules that I have it is: do not count calories, do not hate carbs, only eat real, healthy food and find ways to love every bit. Quick Burgers 1 can black beans drained and rinsed 2 tbsp. Ketchup 1 tbsp. Yellow mustard 1 tsp. Garlic powder 1 tsp. Onion power 1/2 cup oats Preheat the oven to 400F. Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper and set it aside. In a mixing bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly pureed but some half beans and bean parts are still left. Stir in the condiments and spices until well combined. Then mix in the oats. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into thin patties. Bake 7 minutes, carfully flip over, and bake other side for another 7 minutes, or until crusty on the outside. Slap onto a bun with extra condiments and enjoy it! This recipe some times i bbq it also.

Time in Life

There is a time in life were we realize that all the things we are doing are wrong. And we have to take care of our life. I put an imaginary sign in myself that says "handle with care". That's why I could recuperate myself from all my illnesses. I know my dad and grandma have high blood pressure and my mom have arthritis, but no one in my family have diabetes. So then I thought to myself that just because they have these illnesses does not mean that I have to have them as well. I started taking care of myself like the athlete that I was when I grew up. I know that eating only plant base foods is more important than anything to recuperate myself and yes, i miss eating meat sometimes, but why eat something that my body can not handle? That of course does not mean that everyone has to stop eating meat like I did, but you can reduce it to only eating it occasionally. It is a very long process but I am glad to say that if it helped to recuperate my health, it can help others

Today...

In april 1996 I came to Canada and 1 year later I started getting high blood pressure, getting over weight and have diabetes Type 2 and ostheoarthritis. I was battling with my doctor that it was the medication but he didn't believe me. Well like everybody knows in 2014 I started with USANA to recuperated my health and in 2015 he take out my medications but I have to go every 3 month for check ups anyway. Today I have a meeting with him and he told me: " Rosario, you just get it! You know more than me about nutrition and the things that you have to do to recuperated your body, I want you to teach people and help others because what you do is not only in your illness but works for everybody, and I want you to teach me to because you are right, nobody teach us in medical school about nutrition. You have to give the patienties medication no matter what and you prove to me today that there is a better way! And start with the patients that want to be healthy and commited with themse
